A pile of building waste found in Weston Hills may have come off a van rather than dumped there, according to police.

Rubbish, including bags of gravel, concrete, cement bags and a wheelbarrow. was left at the corner of Delgate Bank and Fengate Drove, between 6pm and 8.30pm on Thursday, July 23.

Unfortunately, some of the waste had effectively ‘glued’ itself to the road

Lincolnshire Police spokesman

Police had to cordon the road off while workmen from South Holland District Council cleared away the rubbish.

But a Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “Around 8.30pm on July 23, a member of the public reported some builders’ waste on the road near a blind bend between Delgate Bank and Fen Gate Drove.

“Unfortunately, some of the waste had effectively ‘glued’ itself to the road and so we had to put cones out to allow a team from highways to come and deal with it.

“It may have fallen from a van, as opposed to being flytipped, so our concern was the safety of road users rather than littering offences.”
