A 70 year-old man has been arrested and bailed in connection with the death of a Gosberton woman.

Police and ambulance were called to Hedgefield Hurn, Gosberton, at about 4.30am last Thursday, where a 69-year-old woman, named as Margaret Morton, was pronounced dead.

Mrs Morton’s death is being treated as suspicious, and a murder enquiry has been launched.

A 70 year-old man has been arrested and is on police bail until December 9 while inquiries continue.

DCI Martin Holvey, who is leading the inquiry, said: “We re not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and ask anyone with information to contact us on 101”.

Community inspector, Jim Tyner, said, “Naturally, the news of this death and arrest is going to be shocking for the community in Gosberton. Anyone with any concerns or worries can speak to a member of their local team”.
