THE AGENT and press spokesman for South Holland and the Deepings MP John Hayes appeared in court again yesterday charged with kidnap and possessing cannabis.

Craig Jackson (39), of Wharf Street in Sutton Bridge, is one of three men accused of abducting his brother-in-law Lawrence Marshall in Holbeach Clough on January 30.

Andrew Sayer (39) is also charged with kidnap while Angela Skeels (37) of Crown Lodge in Holbeach Clough and Georgina Page (47) of Estuary Close in King’s Lynn are accused of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

The four appeared at Lincoln Crown Court yesterday. Police are still looking for another man in connection to the alleged kidnap.

All four defendants spoke only to confirm their names during yesterday’s preliminary hearing. They will next appear at the same court on April 26 for a plea and case management hearing.

Recorder David Farrell QC remanded Mr Jackson into custody and granted the three other defendants conditional bail until their next court appearance.

The incident is alleged to have occurred on Sunday, January 30, after Mr Marshall, who has recently separated from Jackson’s sister, went to his former partner’s home to meet her.

Craig Jackson served as a Conservative member for Long Sutton on South Holland District council from 1999 before losing his seat in 2007. He has worked for MP John Hayes as his agent in the 2010 General Election and press spokesman.

He has also worked as a researcher and communications officer to Stephen O’Brien who has held the Cheshire seat of Eddisbury since winning a bye-election in 1999.
