A man involved in a row with his partner has been made to pay for the damage caused to a council house.
Sam Williams is about £640 worse off after he charged for a new toilet suite, bath panel, wash basin, plug socket and central heating programmer by South Holland District Council.
Williams had an argument with his partner at their rented home in Surfleet in April which led to him being handed a caution by police on July 23.
Even though his partner, the council tenant, chose not to press charges again him, the district council forced Williams to pay for the damage caused which totalled £640.88.
Coun Christine Lawton, portfolio holder for housing, said: “This incident should act as a clear warning to anyone that this sort of behaviour is not acceptable.
“We will take firm action against residents whenever damage is caused to our properties.”
