People in South Holland are being warned not to leave their tools out for thieves to get away with after a spate of thefts in the area.

The most recent theft took place overnight last Tuesday and Wednesday when power tools were stolen from a Fiat Scudo in Little London, Long Sutton.

Earlier in the week, two cordless drills were stolen from a Citreon Berlingo that was broken into while parked in Bourne Road, Spalding, overnight between Friday June 6 and Saturday 7.

During the same period, a Peugeot Expert van parked in Rotten Row, Pinchbeck, was broken into and two DeWalt and two Makita drills were stolen.

In a separate incident, power tools were stolen from two vans, a Citreon and a Peugeot, both parked in Hannam Boulevard, Spalding, also between June 6 and 7, while a cordless drill, circular saw, DeWalt hammer drill and Bosch SDS hammer drill were all stolen from a Fiat Ducato broken into in West Parade, Spalding, at the same weekend.

Insp Jim Tyner, community policing inspector for Spalding, said: “These tools are people’s livelihoods so if anyone has any information regarding the thefts, please contact us on 101.”
