A SPALDING man caught stealing two days after he was handed a suspended prison sentence is now behind bars.
Shane Steven Cooper (21), of Herring Lane, had appeared before the town’s magistrates last Thursday but found himself before the bench again on Monday.
Cooper was summoned to Grantham this week to answer two charges of theft after taking sat navs from vehicles in Spalding on Saturday.
Magistrates sentenced him to four weeks in prison for each offence, to run concurrently.
However, Cooper’s sentence totted up to 24 weeks when magistrates activated the 20-week sentence, which had been suspended for 18 months, handed to him the week before.
The earlier charge related to the theft of a PA system speaker from Spalding’s South Holland Centre during in a sneak-in burglary on June 21.
