Headbutted boy of 15

A MAN head butted a 15-year-old boy, leaving him with a swollen nose and a chipped tooth.

Jack Kidd (20), of Hanthorpe Road, Morton, was with two others and confronted the boy who was sitting on a low wall at outside Tesco Express in North Street, Bourne, at 1am on July 29.

Rebecca Ritson, prosecuting, said there was some conversation and Kidd was pacing up and down.

Suddenly, and without warning, Kidd leapt over the wall to where the boy was then standing and head butted him in the face, causing him to stumble backwards.

Anita Toal, mitigating, said Kidd was talking to the boy about what he felt was a serious issue.

She said: “He took the view the complainant wasn’t taking it seriously, he was smirking at him.”

Spalding magistrates on Thursday adjourned the hearing to October 18 for a pre-sentence report and extended Kidd’s unconditional bail.

Kidd pleaded guilty to common assault.

The victim cannot be named because of his age.
