A rise in thefts of agricultural machinery across South Holland, including tractors and trailers, has led to a warning for farmers to protect their goods.

There has been a spate of thefts over the last two weeks, with incidents reported in Holbeach St Marks, Long Sutton and Sutton St James.

Now police are advising farmers and owners of agricultural equipment to take photographs of their goods and record details, including chassis numbers, identifiable marks and the number of hours vehicles have been used.

Any suspicious activity nears farms and their machinery should be reported to police by calling 101.
