A lap-top computer has been stolen from a home in Spalding as the number of burglaries in the town this week reaches five.

Thieves got into an unlocked house in Edinburgh Drive at about 5pm yesterday and took the computer.

So far, three computers, a purse, torch and house keys have been stolen from homes in Spalding with most the burglaries taking place while people were asleep inside.

Police have stepped up patrols in the town but Spalding community policing inspector Jim Tyner said: “On the occasion of the burglary in Edinburgh Drive, a woman nipped out to the shops and left her windows open and front door unlocked.”

Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
