People across South Holland can find out about the range of services available to elderly residents at a free event in Weston on Thursday.

A First Contact Information Fair is taking place at Weston Village Hall, Small Drove, between 1pm and 4pm when a variety of charities, organisations and community groups will be able to offer help and advice to visitors.

Some of the groups attending will include Age UK Spalding, Welland Senior Citizens Forum, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, Macmillan Cancer Support and South Holland District Council’s community development and supported housing teams.

Jayne Thomas of First Contact, a countywide information service for people aged 60 and over in Lincolnshire, said: “The fair is a great way for the public to meet a range of professionals providing services in their local community.”

MONDAY 5PM: People in Cowbit, Moulton and Weston are invited to a meeting of Spalding East Rural Community Policing Panel tonight at 7pm.

It takes place at Weston Village Hall, Small Drove, Weston, and people living in Moulton Chapel, Moulton Seas End and Weston Hills are also welcome to attend.

The meeting is a chance to discuss concerns about speeding, illegal parking and anti-social behaviour with the area’ PCSO (Police Community Support Officer) Bev Robinson.
