A community centre used by elderly people in Spalding has been vandalised, with a trail of graffiti and damage left behind.

An office window was smashed, a fire extinguisher let off and obsenities written on the wall at Lime Court Community Centre, off Alexandra Road, in Spalding overnight between Wednesday and Thursday.

Police are treating it as burglary after an intruder or intruders forced their way in although “it does look as if the motive was more to cause damage”, according to a Lincolnshire Police spokesman.

“A fire extinguisher was set off and a bingo marker pen was used to write some pretty rude stuff on the wall,” the spokesman added.

Anyone with information should call 101, quoting incident 13 of May 12.
