POLICE arrested two people in a drugs raid at Sutton Bridge after finding what they suspect to be 36 mature cannabis plants as well as small seedlings being grown at a private address.
A team of officers swooped on the home at about 10.30am last Tuesday, seizing the plants, cultivation equipment and cash.
A man aged 44 and a woman aged 19 were arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and released on bail pending further police inquiries.
A police spokesman said the plants were being grown in a bedroom at the house.
Sgt Stuart Hurst said: “This warrant has resulted in the successful seizure of a number of mature plants which were at harvesting stage.
“We investigate all pieces of community intelligence that comes to us and Tuesday’s activity shows that we are listening to the community and are prepared to take positive action to tackle drug offences.
