BREAKING NEWS: Spalding Magistrates’ Court saved

CAMPAIGNERS are celebrating this afternoon after the Government chose to save Spalding Magistrates’ Court.

The court was on the list ‘under consultation’ but will not now be one of the 142 courts across the country to shut.

Magistrates, councillors and MP John Hayes all lobbied to keep the court - arguing that it was not plausible to expect all people involved in cases to travel to Grantham as proposed.

See Thursday’s Spalding Guardian for more on the story.
