Police closed a number of roads during a firearms operation in Spalding on Tuesday.

Specialist officers recovered an air pistol from a house in South Parade but a Lincolnshire Police spokesman said that no threats had been made and there was no risk to the public.

Insp Jim Tyner, community policing inspector for South Holland, said: “The particular handgun seized following a police operation in South Parade was, in fact, a realistic-looking air weapon.”
