Cars in Bourne target

Extra police are patrolling the streets of Bourne after a spate of thefts from cars.

Police are warning drivers to be extra vigilant after the latest incident overnight on Monday.

An offender got into a car in Tennyson Drive, possibly through an unlocked door, and stole a Sat Nav and a phone charger.

The cars being targeted are those with property left on display. Sat Navs, smart phones, laptops and cash are among the items being taken.

A police spokesman said: “Please remove all property from vehicles when they are left unattended. Using a glove box is not good enough.”
