Invited guests attended a special ceremony to officially open the new South Lincolnshire Crematorium.

A plaque to mark the occasion was unveiled by Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire Tony Worth before a service of dedication by vicar of the Glen Group of Parishes the Rev David Sweeting.

Chief executve officer of Lincolnshire Co-operative Ursula Lidbetter gave an introduction to the assembled guests about the facility, which will be run by the Co-op on a day-to-day basis.

The two South Holland businessmen behind the £2million crematorium Andy Bowser and Andrew Butt were also in attendance.

The crematorium will offer up to five services a day – with longer than usual one hour slots.
