A charity in Spalding found a crafty way of raising funds for its hospice near Pilgrim Hospital in Boston. With the help of staff at the Springfields’ Craft Outlet Store, a fundraising weekend was held in the museum by the Butterfly Craft Group, which raised £118 with crafting fun and coffee and cake. The Butterfly Hospice is a newly-built facility providing palliative care and holistic support to patients and their families, working in partnership with local health providers and the local community. Pam Inger (pictured), from the trust, members of the Butterfly Craft Group and the store staff all pitched in to help. There was a memory tree, on which people were invited to write messages to loved ones for a donation, to be displayed in the Spalding charity shop. There was also a large butterfly that visitors were encouraged to help decorate which will be donated to the trust.
