A PINCHBECK rock musician and his girlfriend are on a high after their “ridiculously great” experience at the Olympics.
Auran Lyonheart (26) and Charli Roberts-Fogarty (22) were among those packed inside the Olympic Stadium last Saturday where they witnessed British athletics’ greatest night in history.
Heptathlete Jessica Ennis, long jumper Greg Rutherford and distance runner Mo Farah all won gold in the space of 90 minutes on Super Saturday.
There was an added bonus as Auran, a member of Spalding rock band Verax, had his picture taken with Team GB weightlifter Zoe Smith.
He said: “My sister rang up about four or five months ago and said she had been offered Olympic tickets by a client, but we only found out a month ago that it was for athletics and we were jumping up and down.
“When we got to the stadium, we knew we that we’d see the end of the heptathlon and Mo Farah running in the 10,000 metres final.
“There was a wall of noise all night and when Mo Farah crossed the finish line, it was the loudest roar I’d ever heard.
“The whole night was a once-in-a-lifetime moment and we were there.”
