Holbeach Community Centre played host to a coffee morning for Cancer Research.

Steven and Susan Amess, who organised Thursday’s event and raised £125, chose Cancer Research as both have lost family and friends to the disease.

Susan said: “I wanted to do Race4Life but I had to pull out due to health reasons, so my daughter did it by herself.

“I still wanted to do something to show my support so we did the coffee mornings.”

As well as the coffee morning, there were a variety of activities to be involved in.

The Frozen show was attended by none other than Princess Elsa, and Spiderman also dropped in for a visit. Party Angelz of Long Sutton offered their face painting services.

The ultimate prize to win in the raffle was dinner at Chameli Tandoori restaurant in Holbeach.

The coffee mornings are slowly growing in popularity. The first was back in March when £95 was raised. This second event raised £125.

Susan will be advertising a fun day for next year to hopefully include even more activities.
