DEVASTATED Bicker residents say their village hall could cost £45,000 to fix.
The venue, which had a £60,000 renovation last year, has been left unstable after major water damage caused over the festive period when water “gushed” out of the loft.
The revamp included new windows and doors, toilets, kitchens, bar area and re-varnishing the solid beech floor in the main hall.
Coun Alan Chapman said: “After nearly three years of hard work by so many dedicated people, to walk into the hall and this level of damage was soul destroying.
“We had just begun to market the hall as a new venue. Now we must start again.”
Weekly club events such as bingo and line dancing have had to be cancelled as well as several planned one-off bookings.
