If your youngsters love Frozen and you adore the sound of children’s voices singing then make sure you are in Spalding town centre tomorrow.

A whole programme of festive activities has been planned to mark the start of Spalding’s countdown to Christmas.

The Tulip Queen competition is being staged in the town centre between 2pm and 2.30pm followed by town centre manager Dennis Hannant entertaining with a few songs.

At around 2.45pm the Fitness Company will be demonstrating Nifty Over Fifty and at 3pm there is a performance of Frozen.

From around 3.30pm there will be acts from Jordan Howlett, Will Silver and Ayse Eldred, before the schools’ choir competition, due to begin around 4pm.

Schools taking part include St John the Baptist Primary School (4pm), Sir John Gleed School (4.10pm), Spalding Parish CofE Day School (4.20pm), Pinchbeck East Primary School (4.30pm), Gosberton Primary School (4.40pm), Gosberton House School (4.50pm), Ayscoughfee Hall School (5pm), The Priory School (5.10pm), St Bartholomew’s CE Primary School (5.20pm) and Thomas Cowley School (5.30pm).

There will be more entertainment from Dennis Hannant (5.45pm), Diamonz Dance (6pm) and Peter Jay (6.30pm) before the winning school choir performs at 7pm.

Music will be played in the town at various times by Kirton Brass Band, Holbeach Town Band and Spalding Marching Ambassadors.

The Christmas lights will then be switched on at 7.15pm.

Crews from Spalding Fire Station will be mingling with the crowds handing out safety information.
