Anglian Water has offered to help people affected by flooding when a water main burst in Fleet Road, Fleet at about 2.45am on Sunday.

Firefighters from three stations, Holbeach, Long Sutton and Spalding, used specialist pumps and other equipment to clear away flood water from homes.

An Anglian Water spokesman said: “Our engineers were alerted to a burst water main on Fleet Road, Fleet, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

“Teams immediately attended but, unfortunately, some water had escaped and caused some flooding.

“We know how upsetting flooding can be and, rest assured, we will pick up the tab to get things back to normal for the residents affected.”
