PUPILS from Kirton Primary School were on song at a mass children’s concert at Sheffield Arena.
More than 30 members of the school choir joined thousands of peers from across the Midlands and Yorkshire for a Young Voices event on December 5.
Young Voices is the largest series of school concerts in the world and it saw the Kirton children, aged eight to 11, perform a festive medley of Christmas songs as well as songs from Toy Story, rock giants Queen and a collection of current pop songs.
The children were joined at the concert by the High Kings, who this year performed for American president Barack Obama when he visited their native Ireland.
Music co-ordinator Colette Vinter said: “It was a fantastic experience for everyone. The children especially enjoyed singing with Connie Talbot from Britain’s Got Talent.
“I am very proud of all the children.”
The school has received the top Sing Up platinum award, which recognises those with exceptional singing achievements.
