RESIDENTS in Pinchbeck will have an opportunity to learn more about a possible community land trust for the village at a public meeting next week.
Pinchbeck Parish Council in partnership with Lincolnshire Community Land Trust will explain how a trust could help with the project, which could see the council sell off the leasehold to some of its agricultural land to make way for new homes.
The initiative, which would be the first of its kind in Lincolnshire, could provide access to government funding to make the homes a reality.
The 12 homes would be run by Lincolnshire Rural Housing Association, much like the six bungalows in the eco development at Unity Gardens in Long Sutton.
The trust could also bring the opportunity for other facilities and amenities for the village.
Expressions of interest in joining a steering group to set up the Community Land Trust will be welcomed at the meeting.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 18, at 7.30 pm in the Adult Study Centre on Knight Street, Pinchbeck.
