St Paul’s Primary School in Spalding said an emotional goodbye to a long-serving community governor who has retired after 20 years.
Staff and fellow governors present Judi van Geest with flowers, gifts and a commemorative book containing pupils’ comments on what they liked most about the school.
Headteacher Heather Beeken said: “I’ve been working at the school for 16 years and Judi was on the interviewing panel when I was first appointed as a teacher.
“She’s been a very active governor, vice chairman and chairman of governors, particularly taking and interest in our special needs children.
“We were really sorry when she announced her decision to stand down as a governor, but Judi has done her stint and now wants to concentrate on other parts of her life.”
