Fenland Flywheelers

FENLAND Flywheelers meet on Wednesday, February 6, in the function suite of the United Services Club in Church Street, Holbeach. The evening will be in the hands of Lincolnshire Film Archive who will be showing a programme of the county on film taken over many years that will include various aspects of the life in Lincolnshire as seen through the camera lens. The event is free to everybody interested to attend with light refreshments available plus raffle. Doors open at 7pm with a 7.30pm start. Further details from Darren on 07941 471802. With just one more event to go in this current season, the group is also looking to add to its growing list of speakers for the new season starting in October. If anybody is available to speak on their subject or hobby, pastime etc, Darren would like to hear from you.

Gosberton

GOSBERTON residents who support Lorna Webb’s coffee mornings will be interested to learn that Mrs Webb and her team of helpers are putting on a coffee and pancake morning on ShroveTuesday, February 12, 10am-noon, at 2 Poachers Gate, Pinchbeck. There will be a cake and preserves stall, plants and vegetables, and a raffle. Proceeds for the Jenny Freeman Lodge, St Barnabas Hospice, Spalding.

TICKETS are now on sale for a beetle drive and sausage and mash supper, put on by the Gosberton Public Hall Trustees in the hall on Saturday, February 23, 5.45pm for 6pm. Entrance is by ticket only at £6, available from Ray Noble on 01775 840372.

THE Baptists have a fun and fellowship afternoon tomorrow, 2-4pm. Table games, coffee/tea and cakes.

THERE will be a film show at the Baptist church on Monday at 2pm. Films will include Romania, snowdrops in Whaplode Churchyard, Moulton Mill and Whisby Nature Park. Admission donation of £2 includes a tea.

REPRESENTATIVES from the Gosberton Churches Together, along with people from other churches in the area are invited to a preparation day for the Women’s World Day of Prayer Service, at Spalding’s Broad Street Methodist Church on Friday, February 1 from 10.30am.

MOBILE library will be in Gosberton on Friday, Field Close 10-11am and Godfrey Avenue 11.05am-noon.

A TEAPOT service at the Methodist Church on Sunday is at 4pm.

Gosberton Clough and Risegate

GOSBERTON Risegate Methodist Church has a craft club each Monday, 7-9pm. £1.50 per session. Also there are keep fit sessions at the Risegate Methodist each Wednesday, 7.15pm, £1 a session. Anyone attending these two clubs for the first time please phone Sheila Lee on 01775 840836.

GOSBERTON Risegate Silver Link Club meets in the Risegate Methodist Church on alternative Wednesdays, 2-4pm. New members over 60 are welcome. Contact Tina Sandall on 01775 750364.

Holbeach

ON Monday the induction service for the Rev Rosamund Seal takes place at All Saints’ Church at 7.30pm. Everyone is invited to go along and welcome the new vicar of Holbeach. On Wednesday mornings after the Eucharist at 9.30am Carole Williams has a craft and games group in the Mary Bass Room. Also every Saturday in the Mary Bass Room from 10am to noon tea and coffee are served.

Merchant Navy Association

Spalding

DUE to the weather, Monday’s bingo will be cancelled at St Paul’s Church, Fulney.
