SPALDING students were rewarded for their hard work at a special presentation evening.

Students, staff, governors and parents of the Sir John Gleed School boys’ campus, got together last week to celebrate student success.

Students were nominated by all staff for outstanding achievement at key stage four and certificates were awarded to students during the evening.

The guest speaker was former Gleed Boys’ student Haydn Greeves, who is now a member of staff within the English department.

Mr Greeves spoke about his time at school and how it prepared him to succeed in life with particular reference to his distinguished swimming career, during which he swam for England in the Commonwealth Games.

The evening also saw a powerful physical theatre drama performance from a group of year 11 students working at A* levels.
