AN afternoon tea dance set up by former competitive dancers at Pinchbeck over a decade ago is looking for some new members.
George and Helen Green founded the weekly dance for over 60s when they moved to the area in 1998.
Originally it was held in Surfleet, but soon moved to Pinchbeck Village Hall where there was more interest in the event.
The popular afternoon dance, which includes ballroom, sequence and Latin dancing, runs every Friday from 2pm till 4.30pm, excluding Good Friday and the week between Christmas and New Year.
Joan and Ken Foster, of Holbeach, have been going to the dance almost every week for 11 years.
“They play all different music and everyone soon learns the different dances and sequences,” says Joan. “It keeps us fit. Otherwise we’d be sitting at home, watching TV.”
Entry costs £3 which you pay at the door and includes tea, coffee, biscuits and a free raffle.
