THE festive season has officially started in Spalding with the arrival of the town’s Christmas trees.

The Norwegian spruce trees, a 28ft tall one for Hall Place and a 14ft for High Bridge, have been supplied by Baytree Nurseries and Garden Centre in Weston.

Chairman of South Holland District Council Mick Seymour and his wife Pauline were in the town centre to see the trees put up.

Coun Howard Johnson, executive member for economic development, thanked Baytree, saying: “The trees will help to provide a festive feeling to the town centre which I’m sure we all appreciate.”
