The 2015 Christmas lights in Crowland will be switched on on Saturday by Santa and the town’s oldest resident.

They will perform that happy task from 3.30pm in North Street.

The town will be filled with stalls selling gifts, mulled wine, mince pies and hot food, and when Santa isn’t performing his official function he will be in his grotto. Taylors Fun Fair is also in town.

At the abbey, the clock will be turned back to medieval times with St Nicholas Craft and Food Fair (10am to 3pm).

The abbey will be transformed into a market place with locally produced meat, cakes, cheese, preserves and honey as well as knits and textiles, jewellery and more.

Entry is 50p.
