A donation of £1,000 was made to the British Nuclear Test Veterans’ Association (BNTVA) by the Chosen Charity shop in Holbeach.
Treasurer of Chosen Charity shop Irish Boland said: “We support all local causes every year and thought that the BNTVA was a great cause.
“We also donated £2,000 to Hovendon House in Holbeach in order for a greenhouse to be built, and £1,000 for Here-4-U, which will allow them to take a group to Thursford.
“We have a lot of regular customers and we really couldn’t raise the money we do without them.”
Douglas Hern, trustee of the BNTVA, who accepted the cheque as chairman Nigel Heaps was unable to attend, said: “Everything that we do to raise awareness costs money, so this will be a great help towards what we are doing.
“It’s important that we raise awareness so that people can understand what the Government have been hiding for so long.
“We’re hoping to get the Government to put a fund together of £25 million to help personnel and their decendents who are in need of financial help.”
