There were some extremely strong GCSE performances at the Deepings School this year.

Some 54 per cent of students gained A*-C and there were some terrrific individual successes.

The following students achieved A*/A grades across the board: Chloe Harris (9A*,1A), Ben Jacklin (7A*, 3A), Rhianna Wheatley (4A*,5A), Megan Tomlinson (3A*,8A), India Baines (2A*,8A) and Heather Buttery (11 A).

Students, staff and parents can be proud of their hard work and commitment.

Headteacher Richard Trow said: “Many students displayed a really strong work ethic this year and this positive attitude has allowed them to get the grades required for them to progress to sixth form and college courses and apprenticeships of their choice.

“Their academic achievements, combined with the wide variety of extra-curricular activities they have undertaken during the last five years, make us extremely proud to have helped to develop such well-rounded and well qualified young people.”

Year 11 student Jack Webster was elated with his results, saying: “ ‘I am amazed at my results (two A* grades, five As and three Bs).

“We have all worked really hard this year and these results mean I can study all of the subjects I wanted to do at A-level. I know my Mum, Dad and teachers will be really pleased.”
