Tulip Radio has got together with Springfields Horticultural Society to put on the brand new Springfields Festival and Tulipmania celebration on Saturday and Sunday, May 3 and 4.
The event is to help celebrate South Holland’s tulip growing heritage and retain the best features of the unique event which was the Spalding Flower Parade.
It takes place at Springfields Festival Gardens, Event and Conference Centre and Arena where adults can enjoy flower displays in the gardens, browse crafts, gift and other stalls, watch the Procession and let face painters put a tulip on their cheek.
There will also be musical entertainment from a number of local bands, along with refreshments at the Springfields Restaurant and Bar.
Children have the chance to be in the procession on Saturday, enjoy a petting farm, funfair rides and have their photos taken on the tulip-covered dragon, lion and princess carriage floats.
But we especially want boys and girls between the ages of six and ten to enter the Tulipmania Prince and Princess competition and lead the procession on the Saturday.
The eventual winners will each get a stack of prizes, including a bike from Gibbons Cycles of Spalding
