EMPLOYEES from Wingland Foods at Sutton Bridge have raised £5,700 for the armed forces charity, Help for Heroes.

Eight people from the company, which is part of the Bakkavor group, presented the cheque to the charity’s representative, Simon Hallam, on Thursday.

Staff member Sarah Coates said the money was raised through the site employee forum (SEF).

She said: “Over the past year our employees have been involved in several fundraising events organised by the SEF – these include a race night, charity golf day, numerous raffles, five-a-side football and mobile phone recycling to name but a few.

“This worthy cause was voted for by the employees as the annual charity for 2010/2011 and generated lots of enthusiasm for fundraising.”
