HOLBEACH Air Cadets are one step nearer to experiencing what it is like to fly, thanks to a charity bingo night.

It was eyes down for more than 60 pensioners at the WI Hall in the village, who helped raise £330 for the 2430 Squadron.

The squadron needs between £1,500 and £2,000 for a computer flight simulator to be used in BTEC training that is available to the cadets.

The funds raised on the night were from ticket sales and the raffle.

Cadets meet on Wednesdays and Fridays at 67 Church Street from 7pm to 9pm. Boys and girls aged 13 to 18 are welcome.

Anyone interested in becoming a cadet or helping can call 01406 422883.
