With the arrival of the warmer days there’s no better time to join one of the district’s leisure walking groups – one of which departs from the Centre most Mondays at 10.45am.

Everyone is welcome to take part in these sociable morning walks which have a group leader to show the way.

As well as walks around the town, the Spalding group have enjoyed structured walks a little further afield including at Rutland Water, Ferry Meadows and Grimsthorpe Castle.

If stomping and strutting is more your thing, Lesley Kidd is running line dancing classes in the Centre’s top floor function hall on Monday evenings from 7.45pm. Turn up on the night and pay on the door or call Lesley for more details on 07801 305035.

If you need to brush up on your language skills before the summer holidays, Pierrette Humphreys’ French for Beginners class could come in very useful indeed. Places can be booked direct with Pierrette on 07947 789578.

Creative types have a wealth of choice this spring too. Get Crafty’s programme starts on Friday, May 8, making bead and button hearts. Adults can call ‘Live and Learn’ on 01780 722148 to reserve a free place.

And then artisan felter Eve Marshall starts a new series of workshops on Tuesday, May 12 at 10am which are individually priced and bookable at the Centre.

Meanwhile, there’s a chance for you to have a go at two of the hottest activities currently attributed to delivering positive health and wellbeing benefits –mindfulness meditation and singing.

On Saturday, June 13 Nyingpo from Peterborough’s Drolma Centre will be running a meditation workshop morning here at the Centre.

Her taster sessions last January were very well attended so early booking through their website is advised. Meanwhile there’s the chance to come and have a good sing-song with Voices Unplugged at the Spalding Methodist Hall on Saturday, June 20. Places are bookable through South Holland Centre box office or the ‘Workshops’ area of our website www.southhollandcentre.co.uk.
