A buffet dance was held as a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Merchant Navy Association at Spalding Services and Social Club.
Those at the dance enjoyed live music from Retrospect and 5 o’clock Somewhere, as well as a dance performance by the Peterborough Highland Pipe Band. The event raised £350 for the Merchant Navy Association and was attended by Tony Worth, Lord-Lieutenant of Lincolnshire and his wife Jenny, as well as Captain John Sail, the National Chairman of the Merchant Navy Association. Douglas Hern said: “The event was put on to raise money for and awareness of the association, as well as to celebrate 25 years of when the association was founded.
“We had people from other associations there and the catering was supplied by Mrs Carman Barnes who did an excellent job.
“Everyone there had a wonderful evening and we would like to thank everyone who supported us.”
