Celebration of spring in Spalding

The 106th Lincolnshire Daffodil Society Spring Flower & Gardening Show takes place at Springfields Events Centre in Spalding this weekend.

The show, with competition and display daffodils, plant sales and gardening sundries, is on Saturday and Sunday (10am to 4pm).

The show is being hosted by the Lincolnshire Daffodil Society in association with the charity, Springfields Horticultural Society.

The event has competitions for daffodil enthusiasts, schools and other groups, as well as more classes for digital photography and painting.

There will also be fun competitions for pallet gardens, veggie sculptures and veggie mosaics.

Other exhibits and displays include a landscaped show garden entered by the gardening team from Springfields Festival Gardens, and a display of bowls of daffodils from multiple Chelsea gold winner, Walkers Bulbs.

Visitors will be able to buy plants, flowers and gardening sundries from the show.

Chain Bridge Forge volunteers will also be demonstrating their blacksmithing skills with a mobile forge in the Patio Garden.

Entry is £1 for adults, and free to accompanied children under 16.

Presentations of competition trophies will be made at 1.30pm on Saturday by Lady Bruce-Gardyne, president of Lincolnshire Daffodil Society.
