Surfleet is hosting a big festive Christmas event this weekend, with food, music and Santa.

The Christmas Tree Festival at St Laurence Church runs from Friday until Sunday (10am to 4pm, free entry).

Church members have transformed the church with beautifully decorated trees.

Hot lunches are being served in the Fraiser Room (noon to 2pm) as well as mulled wine, mince pies and shortbread.

In addition, Santa Claus will be in church to meet the children from 2pm on Friday and 1pm on Saturday.

There will be a variety of musical entertainment during the festival, concluding with the traditional service of lessons and carols at 4pm on Sunday.
