HAPPY youth club members at Moulton Seas End have had a £500 boost to help towards the hire costs of the village hall for their Thursday night meetings.

The donation came from county councillor Eddy Poll in response to a plea from youth club treasurer Margaret Hains.

Mrs Hains wrote “begging letters everywhere” because the club must find £30 every week for the cost of hiring the hall.

She said: “I have to have at least 20 children a week to pay the hall fees and that’s difficult from a village half a mile long and half a mile wide.”

The club is open to children as young as seven but youngsters leave when they are 14-15 because they have got too much homework.
