Travel staff are aiming to spread some Christmas cheer to youngsters in hospital over the festive period.

The Anglia Co-operative Travel team in the Beales department store, Spalding, are aiming to fill Santa’s Suitcase with toys, books and games to be distributed to children in the Amazon ward at Peterborough City Hospital – and they need your help.

The girls have already collected gifts from caring customers – and they hope the people of Spalding and surrounding area will really get behind their appeal.

Travel consultant Carol Price said: “This is the third year we have run the appeal and people are always very generous with their support.

“For health and safety reasons we have to ask for donations of new toys, books and games – and with your help we can cheer up children who have to be in hospital over Christmas.”

The appeal closes at 5.30pm on Thursday, December 19, and you can take your gift into the branch between 9am and 5.30pm, Monday-Saturday.
