PET owners can take their unwanted dog and cat food to a Pinchbeck shop and help needy animals.

A model kennel has appeared at Spar in Knight Street so that residents can take tinned dog and cat food to be given away to South Fen Boarding Kennels in Bourne.

Shop owner Darrel Cross said: “A sales rep from Pedigree Chum asked me if I wanted to have a model dog kennel inside the shop for anyone wanting to donate unwanted dog and cat food.

“I have a dog myself and I know how I would feel if it was just abandoned, so I wanted to do my bit to help the volunteers who run South Fen Boarding Kennels.

“I think it’s a brilliant idea and if I can give pet food to them, this fantastic service can continue.”
