A care provider in Spalding took on the challenge of raising money by selling cakes for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Jo Elding was responsible for organising the event at Lincolnshire Home Care in Dowgate Close, Spalding after seeing a call for people to organise cake sales for the charity on social media.

“The advert popped up on social media about a week before it was scheduled to take place,” Jo said.

“I ordered the cake selling kit and it arrived two or three days later.”

Jo (36) is a manager of the care company and wanted to get involved as many of their service users with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.

“About three quarters of our service users are living with Alzheimer’s or dementia so we are very interested in raising funds for the cause,” Jo said.

They also ran a raffle and the total raised was just over £170.
