SPALDING Butchers’ Association has raised £500 for the Air Ambulance thanks to a dinner and dance party.

Entertainment on the night was provided by a live band and 80 members of the community tucked into a three-course meal.

One of the organisers, Mary Barnes, said: “It was a very fun evening and it was nice to raise some money for a local charity.

“We like to support local charities close to home.”

The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance relies heavily on donations, needing £1,750,000 a year to stay afloat.

Tom and Heather Chambers recently accepted a cheque on behalf of the charity.
