A TRADITIONAL Lincolnshire sausage will line up alongside the best from the rest in a legendary British bangers contest next month.
Geo Adams and Sons of Spalding is one of nine East Midlands finalists hoping their recipe will be chosen as London Legendary Banger as part of British Sausage Week 2011.
Staff at George Adams are hopeful their 1910 sausage will wow the judges, including rock legend Noddy Holder and members of the British Sausage Appreciation Society.
The sausage is made to a Adams family recipe dating back to 1910. The judging will take place on Wednesday, November 2, in Nottingham.
Director Lizzi Adams said: “We are very much looking forward to the event and it’s really exciting to be flying the flag for Lincolnshire with a real Lincolnshire sausage.
“But it is our sausage-maker Tony Ragsdale who is most excited, not just because the sausage has made it to the final but because Noddy Holder is his absolute hero.
“He’s really over the moon.”
One of George Adams other sausages, a pork and Stilton recipe, also earned a silver award in the first round of the competition.
