Challenges facing women in business can now be shared after the launch of a new networking group in Spalding.

Spalding Ladies in Business is a chance for women in managerial, commercial and professional roles to meet once a month to share experiences and offer advice about the world of work.

The group was launched in March after an idea from solicitor Caroline Cunnington, a partner at Chattertons Solicitors in Spalding.

Emily Baker-Gaunt, a colleague of Caroline’s at Chattertons, said: “Caroline thought there was a gap in the market for people who wanted to network out of working hours because of family and other commitments.

“Spalding Ladies in Business is meant to be a really informal meeting place for women to have the opportunity to meet other professional businesswomen, with no fees, no pressure to talk about business and no need to make a pitch.

“We’re hoping it will cover quite a wide variety of industries from legal and banking to hairdressing and retail.”

The group’s next meeting is at The Loft in Swan Street, Spalding, on Thursday from 12.45pm until 2pm.

Emily added: “Retirement is something that Caroline thought was an issue where it would be quite nice to talk to other women about it.

“The launch meeting went very well and the group is open to any women who work in Spalding.”
