An accounting trainee based in Spalding is among ten new arrivals at an award-winning firm of accountants.

William Shing has joined Duncan and Toplis Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers, sponsors of the 2014 Education Awards run by the Free Press and our sister newspaper, the Spalding Guardian.

The group, including William, are all studying to qualify with either the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) or the Association of Accounting Technicians.

At an induction day in Grantham, William and his fellow trainees gained an overview of the firm named East Midlands Medium-Sized Accountants of the Year by the ICAEW in March this year.

Debby Brewin, human resources director at Duncan and Toplis, said: “Our induction day for new trainees is an important annual event and an opportunity for them to meet each other in a relaxed and friendly environment.

“It is also an opportunity for them to become familiarised with Duncan and Toplis’s core values.

“Our students are key to the future success of the firm and we believe this day helps to set them off on the right footing in their careers with us.”
