TWO solicitors firms with Spalding bases merged yesterday.

TWO solicitors firms with Spalding bases merged on January 17.

Chattertons and Knipe Miller and Co became part of Chattertons with effect from yesterday.

Richard Knipe, Dianne Miller and Peter Burns, together with all their existing staff, will join Chattertons. Richard and Dianne will join the firm as consultants and Peter will join as an associate, all working full-time.

Chattertons say the merger will strengthen its existing presence in Spalding where the firm already has offices in Pinchbeck Road. The combined practices will continue to operate from their existing premises in Pinchbeck Road and Broad Street and it will be very much business as usual.

Peter Lawson, senior partner of Chattertons, said: “We are delighted that Richard, Dianne and Peter have agreed to join us. The merger will almost double our size in Spalding where we will have 28 legal and support staff.

“We have 24 partners and 180 staff across all our offices and the merger will allow us to continue our drive to be one of the largest and best legal firms in the area providing a full range of legal services and independent financial advice to both personal and business clients.”

Richard Knipe, senior partner of Knipe Miller, said: “We wanted to offer our own clients a greater range of services and have the back-up and support that goes with a larger firm and felt that we had many similarities with Chattertons.

“I am confident that the merger will be beneficial for both our clients and staff alike and I am looking forward to a new chapter in the firm’s history.”
