THE PUBLIC made an “extremely positive” reaction to the Red Lion Quarter in its first week, according to the centre’s general manager.
The centre officially opened on Tuesday with its new food hall and the Boston College run restaurant, Sage, followed at the weekend.
A television advertising campaign will soon be launched to promote the centre and the college will take on students from Easter, while there is said to be significant interest in the downstairs shop units.
The centre had to open now to comply with the terms of some of the grant money it received.
General manager Richard Baggaley said: “The reaction has been extremely positive last week, bearing in mind we just had the food court.
“We are delighted with the way it has gone at the moment. We have had a superb reaction from local people.”
Mr Baggaley said the shops had one or two legal issues to sort but were “very, very close” to being filled.
