The trend of shopping online has spelt the end for a Spalding toy shop.
Fun Junction in Swan Street closed for the last time on Monday and owner Anthony Howling said “extremely high” rental costs and falling sales was behind the decision.
In a statement, he said: “Whilst online sales have continued to increase over the past few years, the extremely high rental and rates costs of running a town centre shop make trading on the high street very difficult.
“Due to the general downturn of trade on our high street and the move to more online purchasing by many, we have decided to close our retail shop in Spalding.
“We would like to thank all our customers who have supported us since our opening in 2004.”
Fun Junction gift vouchers can still be used in more than 200 toy shops across the UK.
